New England Long Walk for 22 Race Description

The New England Long Walk for 22 seeks to raise awareness of the crisis of veteran suicides in CT and RI and raise funds to support the efforts of the mental health community that serves veterans. An average of 22 veterans are dying by suicide on a daily basis and we need to respond to this alarming crisis. Steve Lewis will walk 70 miles from Manchester, CT to Providence, RI over Memorial Day weekend to raise awareness of these staggering statistics and to fundraise for mental health programs that target suicide prevention and treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) (http://stagvetsinc.org/tag/comfort-farms/). The virtual walk/run will serve to fundraise for the event and allow remote participation for individuals who wish to walk miles with Steve in support of his mission. Participants will receive a 2018 t-shirt and NE Long Walk for 22 bracelet for registering.
